To you who read my posts here, I have some news for you. After some time spent here, I have decided to bring the Necropolis Macabre back to its origins, and have reopened the site in WordPress. I have already posted some new news postings and a review, so go check it out. Hello readers.  I thought I'd write up a little update on what's been going on lately.  As you might have noticed, post have been few and far between over the last few months.  The fact of the matter is, I've been incredibly busy with real-life things; my job taking up the bulk of that time.  When I'm not busy socializing in my free time, I've been taking much of the free time I have left over to do other things that I've been wanting to do, such as working on the many story ideas I've had in my head for a long time.

With so much of my time being occupied, the Necropolis has admittedly been neglected, as I'm the only person running the show around here.  So I've decided to announce that Necropolis Macabre will be dead in the ground for an indefinite period.  I don't want to say permanently because who knows what the future may hold, right?  I do enjoy reviewing, and I'd still like to maybe be involved in some smaller way, like periodic guest reviews or whatnot.  But maintaining an entire site is just not something I can easily deal with at this point in time.

So in the meantime, I'll still be making the semi-rare appearance on Twitter (@necromacabre), and if anything comes up relating to Gravedigger Glen and reviews, I'll be letting you know.  The site will still be around as well, so people can still read my past reviews and news postings.  So don't think of this as goodbye, but so long.  Thanks for reading, and rest in peace.

Werewolf Rising (2014): A Macabre Review.

Greetings you lovable creatures.  Today I'm taking the opportunity to do my very first review of a werewolf-themed horror movie.  Werewolf Rising is a low budget entry from Ruthless Pictures and Image Entertainment, and I was fortunate to have gotten a copy of the movie for reviewing purposes.  So let's get into it and see what you're in for.

Necropolis News: Magnet Acquires Worldwide Rights to "Satanic".

 

New York (August 26, 2014) – The Wagner/Cuban Company’s Magnet Releasing announced today that they have acquired worldwide rights to Satanic, a new supernatural teen-horror film currently in script stage. Satanic is a co-production with MarVista Entertainment (MarVista) and Circle of Confusion, producers of The Walking Dead.

Happy Birthday To Me (1981): A Macabre Review.

Starring: Melissa Sue Anderson, Glenn Ford, Lawrence Dane

Seeing as how my birthday is here, I decided to take it upon myself to review something with a birthday theme.  And today I'm talking about a movie that can't be more aptly named, Happy Birthday To Me.  I've had originally intended to do a review for this last year, but it just wasn't in the cards.  This year, however, is a different matter.  Director J. Lee Thompson doesn't have a whole lot of horror-related directing under his belt, but he did direct two Planet of the Apes sequels, so I took that as a good sign that things will go well here.  Was I correct in that thinking?  Well, let's find out.

Hello again my freakish followers.  Today I'm returning to the world of Brain Damage Films with another anthology entry.  Dead On Appraisal shares a similarity with Horror House, another anthology movie I previously reviewed, in that it revolves around a real estate agent trying to sell a house with a rather dark history .  But that's pretty much where the similarities end.

I don't believe there are too many people out there who, as little kids, had some level of fear about some creature that might be hiding under the bed, in the closet, or anywhere where shadows can hide it from the light.  I personally never had a fear of anything in my closet or under my bed, but the basement in the house I grew up in was a different story, which is odd since I spent a fair mount of time there during daylight hours.  But I digress.

Absentia (2011): A Macabre Review.

Indie horror has been pretty hit and miss for me over the years, and it's because of this that I rarely get high hopes when I dive into the next one.  And as I've mentioned in the past, I can no longer trust trailers thanks to movies like The Apparition and Chernobyl Diaries, which promised good things but failed to deliver.
